Family Portrait Days
A new kind of fund raising mechanism from Prêt-a-Portrait.
A day of, informal, contemporary photography that gives parents something they
really value, at prices well below those normally available on the high street
How they work ?
Parents are invited to book sittings one Saturday or Sunday via
a letter which Pret-a-Portrait provides and which is distributed via the school.
|
|
Sittings
are booked directly with Prêt-a-Portrait to keep administrative
burden on the school to a minimum.
On the day Prêt-a-Portrait
sets up a fully equipped studio in the school hall or other similar
space and runs a series of 30minute sittings.
Parents pay a fee of £32.00. For this they get their sitting,
one free picture and their own password-protected online album for viewing
and selecting pictures at their leisure.
In addition to their 'free' picture, parents can then order anything
they may want from a range of high quality products (e.g. prints, frames,
bags, books, canvases etc) online, by post, by email or by telephone
and 10% of the net order value goes to the school.
If
you would like a short explanatory leaflet to show colleagues or take
to a parent's association meeting, you can download one from here, or
email us, or call
0800 021 7626

FAQ's
How
much space do you need?
Our
studios each need approx 6m x 6m (and access to a 13A power supply).
How many sittings can be held in one day?
A single studio can accommodate up to 18 sittings. When
demand exceeds this we set up a second studio which allows us to handle
up to 36 sittings.
Is
there a minimum of sittings?
We try to stick to a minimum of 10-12 sittings in one
day and there is rarely a problem in filling this many spaces. If every
member of the PA/staff/team 'sells' one or two sittings you'll be well
on the way to a successful day.
How
long does it take to set up the studio?
We
like to arrive at least 1 hour before the first sitting, to allow plenty
of time to set up the studio. Please also allow 30-40 minutes for us
to pack up after the last sitting has finished.
How long do pictures stay online?
We keep albums on display for an initial period of 6
weeks. If customers want to extend this they can simply call us. If
they want to place further orders later in the year (e.g. for Birthday
or Christmas presents) we can usually put their album back on display
within 24 hours.
What
about people who don't have web access?
We
are always happy to send contact sheets a few days later for customers
to choose from, but always encourage them to view online (from a friend
or neighbours house, from a library, from work) if they possibly can.
How do customers place their order?
Orders can be placed online, by telephone, by email,
or by post.
How
much can we expect to raise and when do we receive payment?
The
more sittings you have, the more you can expect to raise.
We
will pay £10.00 per sitting or 10% of net order value - whichever
is the greater.
We
pay the guaranteed minimum of £10.00 per sitting, the week after
the event. Then after 4 months (when everyone has had plenty of time
to place their order) we will make up any difference. If you would like
to settle the commission account earlier, please let us know.
